Thank you, Carlos. That's exactly it. The scoreboard said one thing, but what these young men showed us said something far more lasting. Erik's strength on that field, carrying everything he was carrying, is something I won't forget either.
Erik’s story hit the hardest. This is a beautiful article about some extraordinary young men, and I was also really touched by Carter’s story — doing pre-med as a student-athlete is remarkable. Sports were one of the great ways I bonded with my father, and now with my kids; I’ll never forget watching Tiger win the 2006 Open after losing his father, then falling to his knees on 18. Having lost my own Dad not long before that, seeing his grief so openly was cathartic and helped move me toward healing. This was the perfect way to spend Father’s Day weekend, and I have no doubt you and the boys will remember it forever.
Ryan, thank you for sharing that. I'm sorry about your dad. I lost mine three years ago. I loved creating these memories with my boys, but I certainly wish my dad could have been there with us.
Thanks for sharing, Chris. Excellent article. The team may not have won in the field, but they are champions in life, in what really matters.
Erik's story hit me the hardest; having been close with my dad, I can try to understand how he felt.
It is all for good.

Thanks, the Dr hit hardest for me
I like that one too, Jonathan. Carter's whole approach of thinking long term shows he's wise beyond his years
Beautiful article, Chris! Max and Mason are lucky to have you as their Dad😊
Thank you, Claralyn. This trip reminded me how lucky I am to have them too. Moments like this are the whole reason I do what I do.
