That’s the best kind of negotiation to lose, Carlos. I find a lot of times the kids talk us into something that turns out to be for the best anyway. I may not have wanted to keep throwing my boys in the air as many times as they asked, but the memories are priceless. A whole-family weekend in the mountains with adult kids sounds like a win for everyone.
I’ll go first. My boys seem to have been born with the negotiating gene. Some of their first words were “one more time,” which of course meant me throwing them in the air, over and over again, until my arms gave out. They figured out early that they had leverage, and they’ve been running with it ever since. Now that they’re in high school, the asks are a lot bigger than one more toss, but the strategy hasn’t changed much. Anybody else have kids who figured out their leverage this early?
Gracias Chris,
It was actually my adult kids that got us into booking a weekend on the mountains for the whole family. It was a great trip and everyone enjoyed it...
btw, I dislike snooze too ... >;o)
